Government changes AIP chair
Agriculture expert has said the changing of leadership in Agriculture Input Program (AIP) taskforce is a clear indication that government is under panic
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Richard Chimwendo Banda as a chair of the taskforce barely a week after appointment of Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale.
Reacting to the development Leonard Chimwaza, said much as he understands that Chimwendo Banda might have vast knowledge on the matter but quizzed his capability as he was a member of the team that failed Malawians.
Chimwaza however called on the new leadership to expedite the program as time is fast approaching the rainy season.
On what he expects from this year’s growing season, Chimwaza was quick to say that “Malawians should expect doom in the next harvesting period.”
Chimwendo Banda is one of the cabinet ministers who went to South Africa to search for a company that can supply fertilizer to Malawi.
