Minister of education science and technology has announced abolishment of fees for boarding, development and related to government open secondary school effective next year
Presenting ministerial statement in parliament Bright Msaka said ministry of finance will provide matching funds to all public schools and MANEB for smooth running of the schools and proper administration of examinations
Msaka says has already started discussing with ministry of finance and local government to ensure that in utilization of 5 billion kwacha CDF education is given priority
“I believe that members of parliament will work towards improvement of equitable access and quality secondary school in their constituencies using CDF,” says Msaka
The Minister has therefore called on stakeholders and development partners to actively support this paradigm shift that the country has embarked on which is aimed at increasing equitable access to quality and relevant secondary education
He says when fully implemented free secondary education will significantly advance Malawi’s human capital development and social equity.
