Gift of the Givers Foundation donates food to Muslims for Ramadhan

Gift of the Givers Foundation has asked Muslims in Mchinji to sacrifice themselves to Allah during this coming holy month of Ramadhan regardless of challenges they are passing through

The sentiments were made in Mchinji Wednesday when the foundation donated assorted food items to Muslims ahead of the month of Ramadhan

Project officer for Gift of the Givers Foundation Aziza Bakali said they thought it wise to remember Mchinji based Muslims and share with them the little they have in preparation for the holy month

Bakali added that being the border district Muslims usually find it difficult to access some necessities due to long distances to the cities

“The donated food packs will help Muslims in the district to have hope and restore their dignity during the fasting period thereby easing some of the challenges,” Bakali

In his remarks chairman of sheikhs in Mchinji Sheikh Chitundu Saidi described the donation as timely saying it will save the needy

One of the beneficiaries Mariam Fidesi expressed happiness stating that it will enable her fasting period be effective enough

The donated food packs have been given to over 600 Muslims in mosques around Mchinji boma and Kamwendo trading centre
