Former presidents launch houses construction project for cyclone survivors

Former presidents Dr Bakili Muluzi and Dr Joyce Banda have launched the construction of houses for families affected by cyclone Freddy

Dr Muluzi and Dr Banda as Goodwill ambassadors launched the first phase in the area of Traditional authority Njema Mulanje district

Dr Banda disclosed that the initial phase will involve construction of 10 houses

She revealed that the donor has committed to support the construction of 100 houses for families who were displaced by the disaster

Dr Muluzi said the houses will also be constructed in Chiradzulu where people were also affected by the cyclone

He emphasized on avoiding building in areas prone to disasters and encouraged careful planning
