Former president dismisses endorsing presidential candidates
Former president professor Peter Mutharika has dismissed allegations that he has endorsed presidential aspirants of 2025 elections
The dismissal comes after social media reports indicated that former first lady Gertrude Mutharika had endorsed Bright Msaka as the presidential candidate of Democratic Progressive Party
This is also coming at the backdrop of another allegation that the DPP president endorsed Dalitso Kabambo the former reserve bank governor as the party’s presidential candidate
Meanwhile, Democratic Progressive Party vice president for the east Bright Msaka has come open and declared his interest to contest for presidency at the party’s convention.
Msaka said is capable of leading the Party having served various leadership portfolios
He says DPP has registered tremendous success and its membership continues booming in Eastern Region because of his leadership which he has held for seven years
“I am ready to offer leadership that will provide answers to various challenges being experienced through uniting the country, providing opportunities to youth, ending tribalism, depoliticizing Civil Service and freeing a large number of Malawians from over-dependence on the land etc,” Msaka
On widespread social media speculations of being endorsed by the current Party’s President Professor Peter Mutharika, Msaka refuted those rumours.
He said is ready to rescue Malawians from numerous social and economical challenges if elected President in 2025.
