For the first time, over 100 IZF students selected to public universities
141 students sponsored by Islamic Zakaat Fund in different secondary schools have been selected to public universities across the country.
Speaking with Radio Islam, IZF bursary officer, Khalid Chilima says this is a big mile stone for the organization as 141 out of 243 students under IZF have been selected representing a 95% pass rate.
According to Chilima, this is the first time that such a huge number of students have been selected by National Council for Higher Education to pursue different courses in public universities since IZF’s inception.
He says the students have shown their interest in uplifting their lives through education hence encouraged them to work even harder to ensure that they complete their tertiary studies.
On this note, Chilima said though IZF is facing financial problems but it continues sponsoring the students with their tertiary education and called upon the sponsors to pump in more funds.
