Faizan Global Relief Foundation FGRF has launched an empowerment program through which 100 vulnarable families will be given 1 million kwacha each as one way of empowering them economically.
Speaking to Radio Islam during the launch, Head of FGRF in Africa Mufti Usman Madani said the initiative aims to transform beneficiaries into self-reliant individuals capable of supporting their communities.
“ We are not only providing financial assistance but also equipping beneficiaries with business skills to help them establish sustainable enterprises. We have just started with this program and we will touch more families,” said Madani.
He added that all beneficiaries have opened bank accounts to ensure transparency and proper financial management, with regular monitoring scheduled every two months to track progress.
The FGRFdirector for public relations and communications Ibrahim Omar mataya said the organization has reached out to approximately 30,000 families with food packs in the blessed month of Ramadhan.
” Eech family received maize flour ,sugar , soya , salt , and rice, the cost of the food parks is close to K1 billion in Ramadhan alone. This support has directly and indirectly assisted 150,000 individuals in Malawi and we pledge to carry on other empowerment projects that aim to transform people’s life for the vulnerable to be economically independent” Mataya said.
Hanif Osman of OG Issa group of companies encouraged recipients to invest in viable businesses, emphasizing commitment and integrity as key to success.
Meanwhile, Abdul Munaf, Manager of Tsiku Group, commended the initiative, urging beneficiaries to practice honesty, hard work, and proper financial tracking to grow their businesses.
One of the beneficiaries, Ismail Amidu from Kambulaje Village in Machinga district has applauded FGRF for the support saying this will help to expand his restaurant business and be able to make alot of profit hence being independent.
Faizan Global Relief Foundation is an international humanitarian organisation operating in several countries worldwide. In Malawi, it is among the most active charity organisations, providing food aid, disaster relief, healthcare support, and welfare services to vulnerable communities.
