FAWEMA protests against abduction of girls in #Nigeria
As a way of reminding Malawians on the importance of education of girls in Malawi, Ministry of Education, FAWEMA and UN Women are today holding a public gathering in Lilongwe.
A press statement made available to radio Islam indicates that through the function facilitators are also expected to advocate for the freedom of 200 girls who were abducted by gunmen in Nigeria.
It says 52 days have now gone since the girls were taken away from their school in Chibok area.
According to programme Manager of UN Women, there is need to fight for the release of the girls in Africa all the time.
Speaking during the launch of the campaign in the capital city entitled Bring our Girls Back Principle Secretary in the Ministry of Gender Dr Mary Shaba said everybody should take part in this initiative.
