Faith Leaders in Phalombe petition High Court against same sex marriages

Faith Leaders in Phalombe have presented to District Commissioner (DC) a petition against same sex marriages also known as homosexuality

Delivering the petition Phalombe District Interfaith Committee Chairperson Sheik Albulahack Sitolo said they decided to petition government especially high court not to legalise same sex marriages.

He said GOD destroyed Sodom and Gomorra because of homosexuality so same sex marriages should not be allowed in Malawi.

In a random interview people in Phalombe were in agreement with faith leaders saying same sex marriages should not be accepted in this GOD fearing nation

One of the people Alfred Tebulo said it was unfortunate that some people and organisations were advocating for same sex marriages which are a sin before God.

Speaking after receiving the petition on behalf of the DC, Phalombe District Council Administration Officer Godfrey Kachule said the petition will be forwarded to right office.
