An explosive device has detonated in Chikwawa district injuring seriously a man.
Public relations officer for Chikwawa police sergeant Foster Benjamin said the device exploded Wednesday night hurting 50 year old Peterson Washeni in Chipondeni village.
Washeni was referred to Queen Elizabeth central hospital in Blantyre from Chikwawa district hospital.
“However police have not discovered the weapon at the scene and investigations are going to establish perpetrators and their motive,” Benjamin said
Meanwhile police has urged residents in the area to report any strange object.
