DWT to sponsor orphans through IZF
Dedza Welfare Trust DWT, a United Kingdom based charitable organization which is one of the donors of Islamic Zakaat Fund IZF has announced that will begin sponsoring students who are orphans
Secretary for DWT, Muhammad Iqbar Makda made the announcement in Blantyre during an interaction with IZF officials and the sponsored students
“DWT is encouraged by performance of IZF students hence pledging continued support to IZF in order to educate more needy students in Malawi,” Makda
On his part, chairman for IZF board of Trustees Okhai Kassam asked Muslim students under its sponsorship to become useful members of the society.
“It is their desire to see the students excel in their careers and help move the country out of poverty,” Kassam
He hailed Dedza Welfare Trust for sponsoring over 100 students locally and internationally since 2014, calling the relationship a vibrant one.
In their remarks, representative for the students Wilson Leman and FATIMA Kassim, have commended DWT for the support it has rendered towards their education.
They have meanwhile asked DWT to continue the support saying there are still many students requiring assistance.
Dedza Welfare Trust DWT started sponsoring muslim students in 2014.
Currently the trust is engaging in different charitable works among them, farmers Packs, qurban project, cataract operations, goat livelihood project, dental care, masjid construction and secular education project, which are all implemented under Islamic Zakaat Fund IZF.
