DPP takes action on Masambuka murder suspects
Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) has commended Director of Public prosecution (DPP) for taking action on other people allegedly involved in the killing of a person with albinism.
The DPP, Steve Kayuni has ordered Malawi Police Service to begin criminal proceedings for Former President Peter Mutharika and his ex-aide Hetherwick Ntaba in connection of the killing of MacDonald Masambuka in 2018.
Kayuni said that the two should be investigated following some testimonies during the masambuka case.
Reacting to the development, CHRR Executive Director, Michael Kaiyatsa said the investigation will clear out the involvement of the two.
“Malawians are very eager to know root causes of the attacks against people with albinism,” Kaiyatsa
He however called upon state agencies to expedite the matter to ensure that suspects are brought to justice within a reasonable period.
