Department of Disaster Management Affairs DODMA says is investigating reports of biasness in identification of beneficiaries of Malawi Vulnerability assessment Committee MVAC humanitarian response program.
This comes at a time government through DODMA is proving relief assistance targeting 4 million food insure people in all districts.
According to a statement signed by commissioner for disaster management affairs Wilson Moleni the reports indicate that responsible officials are leaving out intended beneficiaries which are the ultra-poor, child headed families, the elderly, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses during the identification process.
Moleni also disclosed that some unscrupulous people involved in the implementation of the program are conniving to steal relief items destined for the most vulnerable communities.
