Deputy Minister impressed with MSCE re-administration
Deputy Minister of Education Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima says is impressed with re-administration of Malawi School Certificate of Education examinations
Wirima made the remarks when she visited Machinga and Liwonde Community Day Secondary Schools.
She says is delighted with the tight security and observation of all COVID-19 containment measures by both invigilators and candidates.
“Government through Ministry of education is already sorting out some of the challenges facing education sector,” Wirima
In his remarks, Liwonde Community Day Secondary School head teacher Frank Nangwale appreciated the minister for touring the School saying with support from Government the School has increased its MSCE passing rate as compared to previous years.
“In 2019 Liwonde managed to send seven students to public Universities which is the highest number recorded since it was established,” Nangwale
Nangwale has however asked Government to build more infrastructures at the School to carter for form 1 and 3 classes during MANEB examinations.
Machinga CDSS Head teacher Austin Ngachie concurred with Nangwale saying most of the students travel long distances to the School and has inadequate COVID-19 as well as learning materials among others.
Ngachie expressed sadness on the dropping out of school of 15 students in the year 2020 because of unknown reasons.
He therefore asked communities to work hand in hand with the School to eradicate the challenge.
