Demonstrations to force Chakwera call for referendum fail to take place
Demonstrations which were aimed at forcing President Lazarus Chakwera to call for a referendum or resign together with his vice Saulos Chilima have failed to take place in Lilongwe today
The demonstrations were to be led by Redson Munlo, after the court barred Human Rights Ambassadors HRA and Kingsley Mpaso from taking part.
However in an interview with Radio Islam Munlo said they agreed in their final meeting to ask another person to lead the demonstrations considering that he is part of HRA and police were looking for him.
“HRA suspects a foul play and is meanwhile investigating reasons behind the cancellation of the demonstrations,”
Munlo said they organised the demonstrations because Chakwera and Chilima have failed to serve Malawians and fulfil the promises they made during campaign for 2020 fresh presidential elections
