Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT) has asked Minister of Finance and Economic Development Joseph Mwanamveka to come open and tell Malawians on all benefits he has sourced for them in Gulf countries.
The call comes after the minister has spent two weeks in gulf countries of Saud Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
But commenting on the time spent, Executive Director for (CSAT, Willie Kambwandira, said much the country appreciates the visit, it is very paramount for the minister to keep Malawians updated.
Kambwandira said in the absence of proper communication on the visit, one would conclude that government is not walking the talk on austerity measures.
According to government, the visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations, secure support for Malawi’s economic recovery, and attract investment in key areas such as fuel supply, infrastructure development, mining, and healthcare.
