Lilongwe Magistrate Court has issued to a search warrant to residence of Former President Lazarus Chakwera over the theft of police dogs at Kamuzu place.
Meanwhile, police has dispelled rumours that Chakwera has been arrested on the matter.
According to a press statement signed by Malawi Police Service Deputy Public Relations Officer, Alfred Chimthere, police obtained search warrant to pursue evidence in which the arrested suspect has allegedly said that the missing dogs are being kept at the Former President’s resident at Area 10
Police arrested Godfrey Jalale 62 of Zulu Village in Mchinji District on suspicion of theft of Police Dogs at the Palace
He has already appeared before the court and is currently on remand
