High Court Judge, Justice Mike Tembo has adjourned to 7 days the case in which Kalibu academy is seeking a court injunction against Kachanga Masjid in Blantyre.
This follows a request by the defendant’s legal team who say they need to be given ample time to have a clear picture of the matter.
Asko Pesola of Kalibu academy is asking the court to restrain Kachanga masjid of Mdala from performing a call to prayer popularly known as Adhan claiming it is causing noise pollution which is disrupting students’ studies.
He also argues that the call is interfering with peaceful practice and other people’s religion.
Lawyer for the claimant Audry Tolani agreed with the adjournment but also requested the court to add the school within the masjid premises as the second defendant.
