Court acquits Chisale of murder case
High court has acquitted former president Peter Mutharika’s bodyguard Norman Chisale of murder case
However Judge Silvester Kalembera has ruled that there was no evidence by the state to show that Chisale had the intention to kill Sigere Amani who he shot in Blantyre
Kalembera also argued that Chisale being a bodyguard of the president had the right to use the gun when he felt that he was attacked
Meanwhile, lawyer of Chisale Chancy Gondwe has disclosed that his client will sue government for unlawful arrest.
“The case is politically motivate,” Gondwe
Amani had asked the court to end the case but the state insisted that Chisale was interfering with the witnesses hence asking to revoke his bail
Chisale is also answering other charges including of fraud in the procurement of cement, the murder of Issa Njauju and fake MSCE certificate which he used to enroll at Malawi Defense force
