Council Summons NRA Over Substandard Roads

Zomba District Council says it will summon the National Roads Authority NRA, for substandard roads been constructed by its contractors in the district.

This comes after some councilors complained of poor standards of roads rehabilitated through NRA.

During the full council meeting hailed on Thursday, members also complained about the poor standards of infrastructures constructed through Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

“We are very worried that many roads being constructed in the district are sub standard hence not durable,” they said.

Commenting after the meeting the council ChairpeRson, Councillor Evance Namakoka said the council will summon NRA and also tour all projects carried out through the CDF
