Concerned Young Civil Servants call Malawi leader to intervene on contributory pension scheme

A group calling itself the Concerned Young Civil Servants has called on President Chakwera to intervene on the matter regarding the contributory pension scheme.

Chairperson of the grouping Samuel Chaoloka, made the appeal at a press conference held in Blantyre.

Chaoloka said during the campaign Chakwera was championing to abolish the scheme which he said was introduced without the consulting the stakeholders.

“I understand that the matter is before the court but it is necessary for the president to take action by advising the Attorney General to make a good direction,” Chaoloka

Chaoloka however pleaded with judiciary to speed up the matter as the prolonged adjournments are infringing the rights who are justice.

On his part Secretary General for the Concerned Teachers of Malawi, Aziz Losa, said the scheme was imposed on teachers hence calling for abolishment.
