Concerned Retired Civil Servants to hold Vigils for Gratuities

Concerned Retired Civil Servants have rescheduled their planned vigils to Monday next week after government failed to honour its promises.

According to the memo seen by Radio Islam, government promised to start paying gratuities to retired civil servants from 21st October, 2024.

But responding to Radio Islam when it tried to make a follow up on the matter, the grouping Publicity Secretary, Ben Mitochi, said no one has started receiving the money a week after the agreed time.

Mitochi said it is very unfortunate that government is ill-treating the senior citizens after serving the nation the whole part of their life.
