Commentators condemn political intolerance
Political commentators have condemned the act of politicizing government programmes in order to seek voters’ sympathy.
This comes in reaction to the recent fracas in Balaka West constituency during maize distribution initiative to families feared to be hit by hunger.
The alleged Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporters forced Member of Parliament for the area out of the place for her allegiance to United Transformation Movement (UTM).
Speaking to Radio Islam University of Livingstonia political commentator, George Phiri, said ignorance on democratic values among many Malawians is the driving factor.
Phiri urged government to work for all Malawians as it does not stand for a political party.
In his words political commentator Ernest Thindwa faulted government leadership for its failure to deal with the culprits.
Thindwa said if proper action was to be taken Malawi would prosper.
