Chimbota Community Development Organisation asks government to vacate from its premises
Chimbota Community Development Organisation of Nkhatabay district has asked government to vacate from its premises for failing to honour the promises.
Government through Ministry of Education went into agreement of turning Chimbota Private Secondary School as a girl’s boarding school.
However, a year after government took over ownership of the school, Chimbota Community Development Organisation has decided to withdraw the decision and reclaim the school.
According to Co-Director of the organisation, Kevin Troughton, government did not follow the right procedures of taking over the school a development which puts the community to the disadvantage.
Troughton further said his organisation has been writing to ministry on the matter but has not responded after several attempts.
Reacting to the claim, Public Relations Officer for Ministry Education, Mphatso Nkuonera acknowledged the working partnership with the organization
On withdrawal of the agreement, Nkuonera however said the ministry is consulting on how best they can come up with clear direction.
