Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) has ordered some companies to pay fines and refunds of about K13.9 million for contravening laws governing fair trading in the country.
Speaking during a media briefing CFTC Executive Director Lloyd’s Vincent Nkhoma said the commission received 86 cases which included 72 of unfair trading practices and 14 of anti-competitive business
Nkhoma said CFTC is working on revising the 1998 Act which will enable the commission to start giving stiff punishments to those practicing unfair trading
