CFTC announces inspection on sugar scarcity

Competition and Fair Trading commission CFTC says is conducting an inspection exercise on prices and availability of basic needs on the market.

This follows concerns on scarcity and a spike in the prices of Sugar in the country.

CFTC spokesperson Innocent Helema said through the exercise the commission wants to know if there are traders hoarding the commodity.

Helema said they will launch investigations against culprits once the exercise is over.
