Blantyre city council has prohibited offloading of goods during day time in central business districts.
In a statement, the council’s chief executive officer Dennis Chinseu says the ban will take effect on 10th January 2026.
He says the aim of the ban to reduce traffic congestion, enhance public safety and ensure smooth administrative and commercial activities within the city.
According to Chinseu the ban is in line with local government act and Blantyre city council traffic and safety parking of vehicles by laws of 2002.
Therefore the city indicates that offloading of the goods should be carried out in the evening
