Barcelona Mayor cuts ties with Israel over abuse o Palestinians

Mayor of Barcelona city in Spain has broken off ties with Israel over its policy towards Palestine.

Ada Colau, the left-wing mayor of Barcelona, wrote to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to announce the city would suspend relations until Israel ended the “systematic violation of people of Palestine’s human rights”.

Colau said Israeli authorities should fully comply with obligations imposed on them by international law and various United Nations resolutions.
