Attorney General condemns Ministries, departments, agencies for leaking his opinions
Attorney General Chikosa Silungwe has asked Ministries, departments and agencies not to leak his opinions
Silungwe has said this a day after the document ordering government to re-appoint commissioners of Malawi electoral commission Linda Kunje and Jean Mathanga was leaked on Thursday 11th February
He says leaking his opinions in that manner is simply silly and immature.
Silungwe said he knows that the leakages are not from Ministry of justice
According to him since he assumed office a number of opinions he has given to ministries, departments or agencies have been leaked to social media, the tendency which is unprecedented
“The leakages have generated unwarranted cyber-debates often leading to conclusions that he has misapplied the law,” Silungwe
He says the opinions he gave on 12th and 20th August are the ones he will stand by as they are correct at law
Silungwe has assured Malawians that he will not let them down and bemoaned that some public officers have deluded personal agenda which must not be allowed because they threaten professionalism required in civil service
He says the people of Malawi deserve better from their public officers
