Anti-Corruption Bureau directs enumerators recruitment in Karonga

Anti-Corruption Bureau has directed that the process of recruiting United Beneficiary Registry (UBR) in Karonga District must restart

According to a statement signed by the bureau’s Director, Martha Chizuma, Karonga has been directed to restart the recruitment process due to “gross irregularities which were identified in the recruitment process”.

However, restrictions on Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu, Chiradzulu, and Nkhotakota have been cancelled.

Karonga District Council Spokesperson, Tiwonge Kampondeni confirmed receipt of the ACB’s directive saying the Council will act accordingly.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau issued a restriction notice last month pertaining to the recruitment and training of enumerators for the 2023 UBR exercise in selected districts after some quarters reported about their dissatisfaction with the recruitment process.

Leader of the Concerned Youths in the district, Chimwemwe Botha said in a separate interview that he was impressed with the order ACB made in response to their grievances.
