ADMARC Starts Selling Maize in Southern Region

Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) has started selling maize in some of its markets in southern region.

In phase one, ADMARC is expected to sell over 12 thousand metric tons of maize in 250 selling points.

Speaking after witnessing the sells at Goliati depot in Thyolo district, Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale, assured the nation that no one will die of hunger in the country.

Kawale said government has put in place necessary measures that maize is always available and those who cannot manage to buy are assisted.

On his part, ADMARC Chief Executive Officer, Dan Makata, said he is pleased that the cooperation has opened the selling points as directed by government.

Makata said every individual is supposed to buy not more than 25 kgs of maize to control vendors from monopolizing the markets.
