Government has appointed boards of directors of 66 statutory corporations effective 9th December 2025
According to chief secretary Justin Saidi government is confident that newly appointed boards of directors will offer sound strategic guidance and robust oversight
Saidi says this will enable respective statutory corporations to fulfill their mandates effectively and improve delivery of public services in the interest of the nation
Meanwhile, Social Commentator Joe Mayere has commended government for the timely appointment of chairpersons and members who have expertise relevant to the statutory corporations they have been allocated
However, Mayere says “although others have been appointed due to party loyalty there is hope that the parastatals will perform well as 80% of those appointed are competent people.”
He said previously the boards were not performing well because of politics of appeasement thereby the country failed to transform
