Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has condemned Israel for repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and called on mediators to take urgent action to stop what it described as Tel Aviv’s “deliberate attempts” to undermine the deal.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Hamas demanded an immediate halt to Israeli attacks across the territory.
The statement comes as a high-level Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo on Saturday for talks on Israeli violations and preparations for negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
The group said this must be done through a clear and specific mechanism under the sponsorship and follow-up of the mediators
Hamas added that Israeli forces had resumed advancing into areas from which they were required to withdraw under the ceasefire, triggering mass displacement amid ongoing aerial and artillery strikes.
