Ministry drills 2000 teachers on leadership
Ministry of education has drilled 696 teachers in Zomba and Machinga with leadership skills
The training was conducted through Malawi Education Reform Program with support from World Bank to strengthen leadership capacity in primary schools
Speaking during the launch of the program at Liwonde in Machinga director of teacher education and development in ministry of education Dr Zizwa Nsukuma says there is knowledge gap among school leaders as most of them assume their positions without necessary orientation
Nsukuma says the program which will support a total of 10, 200 schools leaders is targeting primary school education advisors, head teachers, deputy head teachers and female section heads

Head teacher for Matiti Primary School Yahaya Samson described the training as an eye opener as it has built their capacity in leadership
He said the training has equipped them with necessary knowledge on good leadership and ways of mitigating effects of climate change
Over 2000 school leaders from different districts in the country have already benefited in the program
The program was rolled out in 2021 and will be completed in 2025
