IERA Malawi embarks on reverts training initiative
IERA Malawi has embarked on an initiative of equipping reverts in villages with Islamic knowledge in order to become imams
Speaking to Radio Islam after visiting 20 reverts at Hua Masjid in Traditional Authority M’kagula, Zomba district, IERA Education officer Sheikh Kassim Dicki, said the initiative was established after realizing that most of them lack Islamic knowledge, hence failing to practice Islam.
Dicki said the 20 reverts were drawn from various villages and will graduate on 10th February 2023 after a six months training.
Commenting on the four reverts who performed Umrah in Saud Arabia recently, Dicki said it was part of the initiative of equipping them with Islamic knowledge
One of the reverts who is attending the training and went to Umrah, Josephy Awani who is Group Village Headman Lenard applauded IERA for the good initiative, saying this helps to equip them with Islamic teachings and strengthen their faith.
