2024 Disasters affect 10, 000 households in Malawi

Department of Disaster Management Affairs DODMA says 10 thousand, 833 households have been affected by disasters since the onset of this year’s rainy season.

A statement signed by DODMA’s commissioner for disaster Charles Kalemba says the figures represent 48 thousand 748 people.

Kalemba says out of the total affected population, 11 people have died while 79 injured.

He adds that the fatalities are due to lightening, damaged walls and roofs.
