Vice president meets UNIMA council over delinking

Edukans has urged vice president to uphold delinking of university of Malawi UNIMA which comprises Polytechnic, Chancellor College, Kamuzu College of Nursing and College of Medicine

Executive director of Edukans limbani Msapato said this after Dr Saulos Chilim who is also minister of economic planning and development and public reforms met the council of university of Malawi on its resolution to review the delinking of the university.

The meeting came after education experts led by civil society education coalition rejected the decision to suspend the process of delinking

Nsapato said as the champion of public reforms the vice president should serve the interest of Malawians by making sure that university of Malawi is working independently for tertially education is to be successful

UNIMA council suspended the process of delinking UNIMA which was introduced in 2017

Minister of education Agness Nyalonje and officials from department of statutory corporations also attended the meeting in Lilongwe
