UNICEF gives Malawi boats for immunisation

UNICEF has handed over 4 boats to government for immunization in 4 lake shore districts of Mangochi, Rumphi, Likoma and Nkhatabay

The boats were procured with funding from Global Alliance on immunizations and vaccines (GAVI)

Minister of health said the handover of those boats is a clear demonstration of true commitment by GAVI towards preventing vaccine preventable illnesses and deaths among children

Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda said “the boats will assist in transportation of all vaccines to various hard to reach health centres that are situated along the Lake.”

Kandodo Chiponda therefore urged people that are going to be using them to take good care and utilize for the intended purpose
