UDF congratulates government on has MCC

United Democratic Front UDF has congratulated government for securing the second Millennium Challenge Compact MCC meant for roads and infrastructure development

Speaking during a press briefing in Blantyre president of UDF Lilian Patel said if used well the MCC would improve the face of the country.

She then cautioned government to be swift in addressing socio-economic challenges like fuel and forex scarcity as well as the electricity crisis

On rumours that former UDF president Atupele Muluzi wants to return to active politics, Patel then said “the door still remains open for him.”

However, Patel indicated the party won’t entertain any shortcuts for those aspiring to return to the party.

She says her party is on track to restoring its lost glory through a five year strategic plan.
