Typhod Fever outbreak in Neno

3 people have been confirmed dead while 41 are suffering due to typhoid fever outbreak in Neno district.

In an interview with radio Islam Neno district health office public relations officer Dr Carol Banda said since the outbreak started in November and the majority of the cases are from Chakulembera village in the area of Senior Traditional Authority Dambe.

“This is the third outbreak in Neno since 2010 and my  office is conducting an investigation to establish the root cause of the disease in the district,” Dr Banda

She said plans are there to test all the chefs in restaurants and hospitals among others.

Dr Banda has therefore advised people in the area to maintain hygiene practices to prevent further spread of the disease.
