Suspects escape Nsanje police

Ten suspects have escaped from a police cell in Nsanje district and one of them is a primary school teacher who was arrested for defiling a standard 7 pupil

According to police report there were 21 suspects in two cells and security was intact

However around 1 o’clock one suspect shouted that his friends were escaping through the window

“Immediately officers rushed to the scene to establish facts and discovered that out of the 12 suspects only two were in cell number 1,” reads the statement

The suspects managed to escape by cutting steel bars using hacksaw

Meanwhile further investigations are underway to arrest the suspects
