President Chakwera calls on Malawians to remain vigilant on 6.2 billion kwacha covid funds expenditure
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has called on Malawians to remain vigilant on the expenditure of 6.2 billion kwacha covid funds until all funds are accounted for and any abusers held accountable.
Presidential press secretary Brian Banda has said this in a media release after covid-19 clusters submitted their reports
Banda says presidential taskforce on covid-19 is scrutinizing reports from all 13 clusters on how 6.2 billion kwacha funds were spent.
“Once the president and his taskforce are done scrutinizing the submitted reports Chakwera will address the nation regarding his determination on the matter,” Banda
According to Banda the taskforce is interrogating the head of each cluster in order to ascertain apparent irregularities
The scrutiny has begun after all clusters presented their expense reports within 42 hours after president Dr Lazarus Chakwera ordered the controlling officers and heads of the clusters to submit within 48 hours.
