President Chakwera to address Nation Wednesday Evening
President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to address the nation later this evening.
According to State House Chakwera will speak to Malawians at 8 o’clock
Commenting, experts have called upon the president to provide solutions and address challenges that have rocked the country.
Political analysts Ernest Thindwa and human rights activist Micheal Kaiyatsa say is worrisome that Chakwera has been quite for so long when Malawians have been facing hunger situation, fuel scarcity, slow progress of Affordable Inputs Program, forex scarcity, recent attacks on peaceful demonstrator’s as well as political violence.
According to Kaiyatsa, there is need for the president to use this opportunity to tell Malawians his strategies of ending violence and take action on inspector general of Malawi police for not taking action against men in uniform who were just watching thugs disrupting peaceful demonstrations.
Whilst concurring with Kaiyatsa, Thindwa urges the president to ensure that he puts into action what he will say in his speech
