NGORA launches 1 billion Kwacha NGO Fund
NGO Regulatory Authority NGORA has launched the NGO Fund worth 1 billion kwacha
Speaking at the launch in Blantyre Chief executive officer of NGORA Edward Chileka Banda says the Fund was set to help empower NGO sector through different initiatives that will provide incentives to build human and technical capacity
Chileka Banda says NGORA requested government for extra resources in the 2024 to 2025 financial budget hence allocating 1 billion kwacha to NGO Fund
He further says the NGO fund will target three areas of skills development and management, improve coordination as well as enhance monitoring.
According to Chileka Banda the funds will be disbursed to registered NGOs with a valid licence and government line ministries or district councils working with and monitoring programs of NGO’s
