NFRA suspends CEO over misuse of maize procurement funds
National food reserve agency NFRA’s board of Trustees has suspended its RChief Rxecutive Officer CEO Nasinuku Saukira for the misuse of 611 million kwacha for procurement of grain reserve maize
Chairperson of the board Dennis Kalekeni in a suspension notice to Saukira says the trustees met on 19th February in Mangochi where they considered the issue of utilization of the money and operations without any authorization from the line Ministry
According to Kalekeni “the board also considered his decision to procure services from a garage which was not prequalified to provide the services.”
Therefore NFRA board has suspended Saukira having considered the seriousness of the matters
The agency has ordered him to handover the charge of his office to director of operations
