Muslim parents urged to educate children
Muslim parents in the eastern region have been urged to encourage their children to attend Madrassah and secular education in order to fight against early Marriages.
Muhammad Sidik Mia made the remarks during the annual closing ceremony of 2016 to 2017 Madrassah in Ulongwe Zone in Balaka.
Mia who was the guest of honor commended Albarakkar Charity Trust for supporting over 30 Madrassah and nursery schools saying they are one of his plans in promoting education in Malawi.
“I promise to finish constructing masjids, introduce football and netball trophies and support women dawa groups among other activities in Balaka,” pledged Mia
Speaking during the ceremony Albarakar Charity Trust Senior Supervisor for Balaka district Sheikh Yusuf Mpunga thanked Mia for accepting their proposal to grace the occasion.
“Presence of Mia at the event will encourage youngsters to work hard in their studies,” expressed sheikh Mpunga.
He then pleaded with government to consider Muslim community by giving them enough time for Madrassah
