MUB speaks on 2016 national examinations
Malawi Union of the Blind has expressed hope that this year’s administration of Braille Primary School Certificate of Examinations PSLCE will run smoothly.
MUB Projects Manager Latim Matenje has said as only two weeks remain before the candidates sit for the examinations.
“We had engaged Ministry of Education and Malawi National Examinations Board MANEB to address challenges faced during previous examinations,” disclosed Matenje.
MUB has for long time been expressing dissatisfaction with the manner in which examinations for candidates with special needs, especially the blind are administered.
In his response, spokesperson for MANEB Simeon Maganga said challenges regarding the administration of exams for special needs candidates arise due to failure by schools to submit names that need special attention.
