MPS Warns Perpetrators of Political Violence
Malawi Police Service has warned all perpetrators of political violence that they will be brought to book.
The remarks have come following political violence occurring in some parts of the country as Malawians are waiting for results of presidential elections.
Speaking to journalists at police headquarters in Blantyre Inspector general Rodney Jose cautioned Malawians that the law will take its course on those instigating violence.
“If we find that the violence is connected to the remarks made by MCP president Dr Lazarus Chakwera police will take appropriate actions,” said Jose
The IG said currently over 30 people have been arrested in Mponela and Lilongwe in connection to the political violence.
He refuted rumours that there are divisions in Malawi police service in regard to outcome of the elections.
Jose then warned all police officers who neglect duties
