Ministry Condemns Teachers Giving Learners Manual Work

Ministry of education has condemned teachers at Mpata Primary School in Phalombe who force pupils to work in their gardens as manual work

Secretary for education Chikondano Mussa says the ministry has noted with great concern a video clip on standard 4 learners working on an alleged teacher’s garden

Mussa says have launched an investigation into the issue and working with relevant authorities to get to the bottom of the matter

She has stressed that the Ministry does not condone child labour in any form and teachers are not supposed to use learners as labourers because is against constitution

The ministry of education therefore called on all education authorities to be vigilant in guarding against such malpractices in schools
