Minibus drivers strike over fuel prices hike
Minibus drivers have held a strike against fuel prices hike.
This took place after minibus owners association of Malawi raised fairs following the hike by Malawi Energy regulatory authority MERA
The drivers ask government to reduce fuel prices or inject 3 passengers per seat rule so that they can be earning profits from their business
They said passengers are refusing to pay the newly hiked transport fares Many passengers have walked long distances to various destinations which include workplaces and business points
Some minibus drivers abused other drivers and stole their property. Police used teargas to disperse the angry drivers in some places
